Plant Cells
Week of April 27, 2020
Science: We are using something new this week that I think you will really enjoy! Log on to clever and click on the Discovery Education icon. Click on classrooms, then on assignments. There is a video on plant cells for you to watch. While you’re on Discovery Education, play around and familiarize yourself with it! Along with the videos, there are some worksheets for you to read, answer questions, and color a plant cell. There are websites listed on the worksheets for information on those questions.

Writing:Last week we read a passage titled, “A Plant Puzzle”, which describes the process of photosynthesis. We will use the same passage for this week’s writing assignment.

Science :This week we will return to the Solar System (standard 4.ESS1.2)
On Clever, log on to BrainPop. Under Science, click on Space and watch The Sun and Life Cycle of Stars. Take the quiz, do the vocabulary, and play the games.

Your Immune System/States and Capitals
Week of April 6,2020
Science: This week we are focusing on germs and our immune system. There are 2 BrainPop videos for this week, immune system and coronavirus. Watch the videos, take the quizzes, and do the vocabulary activity. We are also posting a couple of fun videos about germs. Mr. Fant suggests the YouTube video, “The Sneeze: How Germs Spread.” Ms. Horton created a video with a fun experiment that you can even do at home! SS: Continue working on learning those states and capitals! Science:
This week we will be reviewing standards 4.PS4.2 and 4.PS4.3, light waves and sound waves.
On Brainpop, choose science. Click on energy. From there watch Light, Sound, and Waves. Take the quiz after each video. There are also vocabulary words to explore and games to play for each video. Explore and have fun. By the end of the week there will be an assignment posted on MasteryConnect regarding this material.
Social Studies:
Begin studying and learning the 50 states and capitals. Click “learning states and capitals” and several games and apps come up to help you learn these. Pick the one you like the best! Later in the week a blank map will be posted for you to fill in.
